 WHAT IS HISSAR
Assalam oalaikum,

 Hissar is an integral and indispensable part of amalyaat. The field of amalyat is full of risks and dangers. A little mistake by an amil can put his life and his sanity at risk. However, hissar is like a protective shield that can protect the amil from all kinds of threats and dangers.
The power of the Quranic verses is so much that it can overcome all the other powers. So when an amil reads certain Quranic verses before starting an amal, i.e. at a time when he is the most vulnerable, the verses make him safe and secure.

 Hissar is like a fort in which an amil can peacefully complete his hissar without any attack from his enemies. Otherwise the moakkils/ jinnat etc which being tried to be captured can try to harm the amil in order to escape from his clutches.
During an amal, the spiritual powers (jinnat, moakkils etc) which the amil is trying to bring under his control, try to obstruct the amal. They show the amil horrifying imagery so that the amil gets petrified or distracted and surrenders before them. They do all this because they love their freedom. They try every trick to disrupt the amal. However, an experienced amil knows for sure that the imagery is unreal. So he will never believe in it. The amil has to remain steadfast and undeterred during the amal. As soon as the aml completes successfully the scary images will also come to an end
