HOW TO CALCULATE NUMERICAL VALUES


Assalam oalaikum,

In order to find out the numerical value of a word, name or an aayat it is essential to know the Hurf-e-Taji. Usually it is the lunar Hurf-e-Taji which is used in amilyat.
I am showing a table here so that the readers can easily understand this topic.
















This is the lunar abjad and the numerical values of every huruf are mentioned below the huruf.
 With the help of this table you can find out the numerical value of your name. I am giving an example:

Person’s name= Ahmed

Now separate each huruf and find out its numerical value from the abjad qamari. So we will have:
Alif=1
Badi hay=8
Mim=40
Dal=4

The total is 53 and therefore the value of Ahmed’s name will be 53.

Now I shall show you how to find out the value of the ayat: Bismillah ir rahman ir rahim.
Bay=2
Sin=60
Mim=40
Alif=1
Laam=30
Laam=30
Chhot hay=5
Alif=1
Laam=30
Re=200
Badi hey=8
Mim=40
Noon=50
Alif=1
Laam=30
Re=200
Badi he=8
Ye=10
Mim=40

The total will be 786 which will be the value of this ayat.
The values of the remaining Surahs can be calculated in a similar way.
