(Chapter no- 39)
PURIFYING ONE’S EGO
Assalam oalaikum,
The word ‘nafs’ has been used umpteen times in the Holy Quran while referring to a certain part of our self which has desires, appetite, anger, passion, lust etc. The nafs is a part of our physical self although it is not a part of our soul. The nafs is referred to as ego.
In this post I shall tell you about nafs because it is highly important in the field of amalyaat.
If a person has no control over his desires, there will be less chances of his getting success in this field. If an amil does not possess a good character, a pure mind and clean thoughts, all his efforts of doing amals, chillas, wazeefas etc will go down the drain. Neither will his amals be of any use for him nor will he be able to help out others. Therefore, an amil should have a pure ego, especially since amals related to tasqheer or captivating someone’s mind require a clean mind.
It is quite difficult to stop unnecessary and useless thoughts from entering one’s mind. So it is important that an amil should use spiritual techniques by which he can get rid of useless thoughts and purify his ego.
I am discussing a few such methods here:
In order to enlighten one’s mind it is of utmost importance to do dhikr of Allah (saw). Read the below mentioned prayer as many times as you can daily.
Read Bismillahir Rahman Nir Rahim 786 times daily for a heart full of Noor.
Send plenty of Durud on Prophet Mohammad (saw)
The prayers will Inshallah help you to purify your self or ego and help in getting Allah’s Mercy.
